Welcome to Quickbeam. Quickbeam is a remote control and casting utility designed to make casting content to Roku devices simple and seamless. This Privacy Policy describes how JLC ("we", "our", or "us") processes your information when you use the Quickbeam web application (the "Web App") and the Quickbeam Roku Channel application (the "Roku App").

We respect your privacy and design our applications to function with minimal data footprint. Quickbeam does not use a persistent database; instead, the system operates in-memory with automatic data expiration.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect or request any personally identifiable information (PII) such as:

• Your name (except as optional sender display labels provided by you)
• Your email address or phone number
• Account registration or login credentials
• Financial details or billing information

2. Information We Process Ephemerally

To enable communication between the Web App and your Roku device, the Quickbeam Relay Server processes the following metadata in the server's local RAM:

• IP Addresses: We temporarily process public and local IP addresses to match devices located on the same Wi-Fi subnet. This allows sender devices to automatically find Roku devices on their local network.
• Roku Device Metadata: We process Roku device identifiers (Serial/ID) and names (e.g., "Living Room Roku") to let you distinguish between multiple devices.
• Pairing Codes: If you generate a pairing code to pair devices across networks, this 6-character code is temporarily stored on the server to match your devices.

Retention Policy: All device registry entries and pairing information are held ephemerally in server RAM and automatically expire and delete within 1 hour of inactivity.

3. Magic Links and Share Targets

When you create a "Magic Link" to send a video or channel link to a Roku device:

• We parse the URL you provide to extract target application IDs and media parameters (e.g., YouTube or Netflix video identifiers).
• This link mapping is stored on the relay server under a randomized, unique identifier (UUID).
• You may optionally provide a sender name to display on the recipient's screen.

Retention Policy: All magic links expire and are permanently deleted from server RAM within 24 hours.

4. Local Storage (Device-Only)

Quickbeam uses your web browser's local storage (localStorage) to save preferences, pairing codes, and contact lists. This information is stored exclusively on your device, is never transmitted to our database, and remains under your complete control. You can clear this data at any time by clearing your browser cache.

5. Third-Party Services and External Links

Quickbeam processes external URLs (such as YouTube, Netflix, or web streams) to instruct Roku to launch the corresponding official app channel. When you open a magic link, your device connects to standard Roku services on your local network. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external platforms or Roku services.

6. Data Security

All communication between your browser, the relay server, and your Roku device is encrypted in transit using industry-standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) / Transport Layer Security (TLS) (HTTPS).
